About a Geek

This blog is for those in the K12 learning environment that have ideas and visions for technology integration in the classroom to further student learning and achievement. It is a place to share ideas, tips, tricks, successes, failures, experiences — and anything else you’d like it to be — in positive ways to help myself and others understand the world around us. It is my feeble attempt to encourage life-long learning in myself and others. I hope it moves you in positive ways, and makes you think once in a while.

Thanks for putting up with me! ;-)

The Unfortunately-Required Disclaimer: The thoughts and ramblings that go on here in no way mirror the ideas, programs or goals at my place of employment. It’s just my silly banter on tech happenings in the K12 world.

Basically provide students the best way possible of learning and give this also to the teachers a an tool to help them teach the best they can. It is a integration of digital solutions and classroom solutions. If you want to participate in this. Or know people that do, please forward the message.

    Hi,

My name is Katie Porro and I am with a company called Tikatok. Tikatok is a site where children create and publish their own books. Our platform can be used in class as a way to motivate students to write and I thought it may be of interest to your readers.

We would love to offer the opportunity for you to try our site and write a review about your experience. We will offer the published copy at no charge to you as a thank you for taking the time to spread the word about us.

Let me know if this is of interest to you and we can set up a time to chat next week. In the meantime, you can learn more about how Tikatok is being used in the classroom by visiting http://www.tikatok.com/classroom.
